This is a range very very close to my heart & I'm forever adding more badass rebels to it: a big bold blaring visual love letter to all the warriors who have played or are playing a role in smashing the patriarchy & claiming their space.
I'm often asked about the name of this range so I've broken it down here:
When I was a kid, I was often shamed for being forward, decisive, confident & headstrong. & while my male counterparts were cheered & high-fived for being exactly that, I was told I was bossy - a term heavily loaded with only negative connotations. I'm in my mid 30s now & I have yet to hear a boy or man be called bossy.
These are the first hits you get when you google the meaning of the words "BOSS" & "BOSSY". See for yourself the disparity of the male and female association with these terms.
& THIS is why I've called this range "Bossy, like a BOSS!"
a person who is in charge of a worker, group, or organization.
"I asked my boss for a promotion"
If you describe someone as bossy, you mean that they enjoy telling people what to do.
"She remembers being a rather bossy little girl"
"she's strong without being bossy"
give (someone) orders in a domineering manner.
"he does not like being bossed around"
"stop being so schollmarmish and bossy"
"Blake may seem bossy, but I'll tell you it's Lisa that really wears the trousers in that relationship"
"that was a real boss move on his part"
"my older sister was very bossy"
"girls of that age can get quite bossy"
So this is my little contribution to making the next generation of women (& that's anyone who identifies as such) even bolder & LOUDER, making sure they are both seen & see themselves - up on billboards, screens, front covers, panels & leadership roles. I hope it brings hours & hours of inspiration & joy to whoever needs it!
